Meta like Berisha: 16-year-olds must vote

12/03/2013 00:00

The leader of the Socialist Movement for Integration, Ilir Meta,
supports the proposition made yesterday by Prime Minsiter Sali Berisha
for reducing the voting age to 16 years.

“The first 16-year-olds who will vote will take their responsibilities. SMI is the first political force that has changed its status, where 16-year-old members have the right to vote”, Meta declared.

According to him, even if the consensus to realize this difference will not be reached before these elections, the 16-year-old Albanian citizens in the future will have a bigger role than today.

The SMI leader underlined that the cooperation between the political forces should expand in all levels in order to approve the three laws and create a positive climate for the elections of June 23rd.
