Meta: I’m a guarantee for the opposition

Parliament Speaker Ilir Meta confirmed to the United States Ambassador
to Tirana that he will be a guarantee for the opposition in Parliament,
after the international community expressed its concern that the
opposition should be involved, now that the country has such a large
majority.
“I hope that the Democratic Party will contribute to enrich our work even more, by being constructive and by standing to its promises that they will support any initiative that helps the integration process”, Meta declared.
Encouraged by the guarantee given by the Parliament Speaker, the United States diplomat declared that what the international community expects from Albania is progress towards being a normal country.
“Normal doesn’t mean excellent, but that things work as they should. It is right to say that Albania and the international community has not seen this Parliament working normally. This does not mean that there should not be strong and passionate speeches, because that is part of politics, but it is important that these debates become constructive so that they can push the country’s interests ahead”, Arvizu declared.
