Meta: Gender equality in Parliament by 2017

The leader of the Socialist Movement for Integration, Ilir Meta,
declared during a meeting with the Women Movement for Integration, that
the majority aims to equalize the number of females in Parliament with
males by 2017.
“We have always trusted women. We have full equality in our municipal councils. After the elections we will have it in Parliament too. Albania will be the first country in the region that empowers women. This is the change of the Albanian politics”, Meta declared.
The SMI leader spoke about the territorial administrative reform, which, according to him, will get Albania closer to the European standards as regards services to citizens.
