While describing it as an important taken by the state in the fight against the pandemic, President Ilir Meta has decreed the agreement for the purchase of the antiCOVID vaccine.
This agreement, although it is an important step in the measures taken by the Albanian state in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, enables the funds in order to obtain the vaccine for only 20% of the population, depending on the funding made available by Albanian state.
“The President of the Republic, Sh.T.Z. Ilir Meta, has announced the Decree ratifying law no. 134/2020 ‘On the ratification of the engagement agreement between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania’, represented by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, and the GAVI Alliance, for participation in the global structure of access to vaccines COVID-19 (Covax Facility)”.
“It is imperative that every step taken by the Albanian Government be well studied, in full coordination with the structures and partners of the World Health Organization and the European Union, in order to ensure vaccination to the extent that the country needs in coping with this pandemic”.
“For this reason, the Government must make every effort to guarantee full budget coverage of every need and request of the population for vaccination “, the Presidency informs.
