In a press conference, the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, spoke about Albania’s candidate status.
Merkel was asked abut the purpose of the conference for Western Balkan that will be held in Berlin by the end of August. She said that it is very important for Germany to help poreserving the European perspective in Balkan and look into the future.
“As for Albania, the further progress will depend on the progress of this country with the reforms”, Merkel declared.
The conference is organized for the 100th anniversary if the First World War and the 75th anniversary of the Second World War. Next year it will be organized by Austria.
