Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future In the beginning of the tourist season, the Minister of Environment,
Fatmir Mediu, asked the Regional Agencies to take measures for not
allowing sewage in seas, and punish all businesses that create acoustic
pollution.
“Our obligation is to implement the law and no one will be tolerated. We will undertake penal procedures against everyone that pours sewage waters into the sea. No activity will operate without license, and all licensed operators will be inspected for keeping the noise level within the parameters. We will organize our work in groups, for covering all areas. We need cooperation from the State Police and other structures”, Mediu declared.
The acoustic pollution phenomenon in Tirana is even more problematic and a task force will be established for preventing it for this summer season. Mediu also mentioned the subjects that exploit the inert materials.
“Your obligation is to inspect if the subjects that have exploited inert materials in the past have fulfilled all obligations for the rehabilitation of the exploited areas. If they have not fulfilled these obligations, they will be asked to intervene, even if they are no more active in the area, otherwise they will meet the law penalization that goes even to license removal”, Mediu declared.
Besides the subjects that will be punished for violations, there will be penalizations for the inspectors that will not report violations.
