Mediu meets US Congressmen

The Republican Party leader, Fatmir Mediu, at the same time
Environmental Minister, visited the USA together with the Party of
Justice, Integration and Unity MP, Dashamir Tahiri. They met the US
Congress Speaker, John Bohener, exchanging their opinions about the
Albanian factor contribution in Balkan.
The Republic Party press release notifies that Mr. Bohener has valued Albania’s contribution as a NATO member. Mediu and Tahiri also attended a business breakfast with Senator John Kerry, Chairman of the Foreign Commission and former candidate for US, the leader of the senate, Harry Reid, and other Senators, where they thanked the US Government and Congress for the support in Albania’s NATO membership.
Mediu and Tahiri updated the US senators with the recent developments in Albania, by underlining that programs of their parties which are based on the Albanian national cause, the respect of private property as a basic right, defined as such at the EU Human Rights Convention.
Mediu started his visit to the US together with the Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha. It might be a coincidence that Mediu met with a considerable number of congressmen. What makes this visit even more interesting, from the political point of view, is that Mediu was together with the PJIU MP, Dashamir Tahiri, who has had conflicts recently with the leader of his own party, Shpetim Idrizi.
The joint visit to the US is the first signal of Mr. Tahiri for a possible cooperation with the Albanian Republican Party in the future, by turning it into a single small group within the majority, what changes the relations of the Republican leader with the ruling Democratic Party.
