Medicinal plants in our country have been damaged and used abusively, while the state has followed a practice of impunity.
In the first conference of medicinal plants, the Minister of Environment, Fatmir Mediu, valued this industry as very important for the development of the country and the employment of people, especially in rural areas. According to Mediu, he should have paid more attention to the development of this sector.
A priority of the Ministry of Environment is the planning of a new legislation. Most of the revenues are gathered from sage, pinecones, teas, leaves and fruits of wild plants.
