The Mayor of Pogradec, Eduard Kapri, is under investigation for using
violence against a bailiff. The city’s aqueduct keeps spurring harsh
debates among parties, and although the issue has now ended up in court,
it keeps causing conflicts.

After the Court of First Instance ordered a suspension of the Mayor’s decisions, bailiff Florian Beqaraj, 36, arrived from Tirana in Pogradec to carry it out but he claims he was physically attacked by the Mayor.

The Mayor denies and says the bailiff had not introduced himself. Kapri says this is the second bailiff that comes from Tirana and who goes in Pogradec, and although the COurt has suspended his works, Mayor Kapri explains that the administrator of the Aqueduct is still Marsel Isallari that he has appointed.

The Aqueduct of Pogradec has been in the focus of political debates while the police say they have started an investigation on Kapri for impeding the execution of a court order and attacking a public official because of his duty.
