The friendly match between Albania and Moldavia, predicted for this
Wednesday evening, might be held in another stadium or time when
electricity will not be needed.
The energy distribution CEZ Company has decided to stop the power supply of the National Stadium for unpaid electricity bills for several nights.
The Sportive Center Company has created the 700.000 ALL debt since they are trying to pass the company to the “Red and Black Association”, created by the federation. The federation says that they have tried to negotiate, but no success.
“It’s very regrettable that a registered company in Albania and that represents the interests of the state is not sensible to the national team. It is not serious with our Moldavian friends and FIFA to communicate them that the match will be played in another time, because we don’t have electricity”, declared Eduard Prodani, General Secretary of the Albanian Football Federation.
CEZ started an action for cutting energy to some cities that haven’t paid electricity for a long time and they have no intention to tolerate the Federation’s request, because it would mean that they are holding double standards.
Sources at CEZ say that they have also made better offers for this debt, but there has been no signal.
The situation has attracted the attention of coach De Biasi, who appealed the government and the Prime Minister to make the match possible. De Biasi considers this match as very important, because it is the last friendly match before the world cup qualifications.
“We have gathered 25 football players because this is a very important match for testing the shape of our players before the qualifying matches. It is important to realize this match”, declared the Italian coach of our National Team.
