8 people were killed this Friday on Resulaj, a village near Vlora, where a 24 year opened fire on his relatives. The victims were all member of two Zykaj families, living in the same village.
Our correspondent in Vlora reports the author entered first in the home of his grandparents armed with Kalashnikov, shot them and two of their uncle’s family members. He went further to the other uncle’s house, 30 meters away, to execute four others. There are also reports for a wounded person.
Zykaj quickly left the scene and is being chased by numerous police forces, from Vlora and Tirana. He is considered extremely dangerous and armed. Police called for people to stay away of him if they come across him, and immediately report to the authorities.
Police still do not have a clear motive of the event, why it was caused. In no other serious criminal event in Albania after the 1990s, a single author did not cause this high number of victims.
