The environmental massacre on rivers continues. The businesses are
stealing from the riverbeds tons of inert materials, by challenging this
way the law openly.
There have been illegal activities recently in the Mat River, near the town of Milot, a few meters from the Zog Bridge. Dozens of heavy machineries are digging the riverbed for the inert materials.
This activity has been going on for a long time. Dozens of trucks load materials at the Zog Bridge, while the respective institutions make nothing for stopping this destructive activity that has been banned by law.
Neither the directory of River Protection nor the Construction Police have intervened for stopping the illegal activity. According to the officials, illegal diggings have been the main cause for the floods of thousands of hectares of agricultural land and hundreds of buildings in Kurbin and Lezhe.
