Human remains have been found in five different locations in Serbia which are suspected to belong to persons from the recent war in Kosovo.
The Kosovo Government Commission on Missing Persons said at a press conference that it had hoped for greater EU pressure on Serbia to provide information on the missing.
“In Serbia, Kizhevak is the fifth location where human remains were found, after Batajnica, Rudnica and Petrovasella. In Kosovo we had excavations in 9 places, which resulted in the find of 11 human bodies remains”, said Manaj. The director of the Institute of Forensic Medicine, Arsim Gërxhaliu, meanwhile said that another cemetery in Serbia is suspected. “Another cemetery in Serbia is suspected as a mass grave. You know that parts from at least 5 individuals were found in Kizhevak”, said Gerxhalliu.
Regarding suspicions about a mass grave in Serbia’s Staval, officials say they are waiting for maps related to the 1999 terrain configuration to compare them to the current situation.
