The Albanian government is not giving the deserved attention to the
manufacturers industry. This was the message given by the opposition
leader during a visit at a tailoring factory at the 5 Maji Street in
Tirana.

Florian Zekaj, who has been managing this tailoring factory for many years, lists a series of problems that the sector is facing, especially job cuts.

“There have been job cuts, because this year we have had many difficulties. They promised to remove VAT for our equipments but it has not been applied yet”, Zelaj declared.

Rama held a conversation with the Borad of Directors at the Manufacturers Industry, who say that they don’t have the government’s help and that this sector must be transformed through concrete policies. Rama asked the Manufacturers Industry to plan the suggestions for having a clear vision in this sector.

“The loss of 30.000 jobs in four months was shocking, while the fact that this loss can be avoided by giving you support. It is very necessary to have a plan when on one side we consider the sector as a profit instrument not for you, but for the state. We have calculated that if we invest 12 billion ALL in four years to encourage the local production, the sector in which this business is included, we will profit 51.000 jobs and 18 billion ALL taxes for the state”, Rama declared.
