Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The Parliament seat abandoned by the Socialist MP, Rudina Seseri, is
firing up the political debates between the two main opponent leaders,
Rama and Berisha, with the Parliament Speaker getting involved recently.
She explained that the majority has never doubted that the seat was of a Socialist member, but she declared that the Socialist leaders have an inner disagreement, mentioning the different views of the leader Rama and Gramoz Ruci, the Socialist Parliamentary Group leader, about the Central Election Commission decision.
“The Regulation Council doesn’t function based on majority of votes, but in full equality with five representatives from the majority and five from the opposition. Until Mr. Rama decides about the validity of the legal acts that have been decided so far, ‘poor council’, with all the Socialists in it. Because every opinion that will help bringing a conclusion will be blocked. While Mr. Rama should explain to the Albanians which Parliamentary Regulation, Constitution or Electoral Code article grants the Parliament Speaker the right to give or take a mandate from an MP”, Topalli declared.
Although without a new option for resolving the debate, the Parliament Speaker expressed her optimism that the modalities will be found, if Rama will be cooperative.
“If this story, with the Socialist men who change their word within the second, really doesn’t aim to block the reforms and consensus, then we will find the legal Constitution modalities”, Topalli declared.
Explaining her position regarding Mr. Rama’s accusations that she is withholding even the Presidential decrees for the Constitutional Court members, the Parliament Speaker included the President in her irony.
“As regards the mandates for the Constitutional functions, Rama should look for it at the Presidency, where the Parliament sent a decision about this, and not Jozefina. There’s nothing I can do about it. He will certainly find it there, if he gets help from any of his devoted voters”, Topalli declared, referring to the Albanian President, for whom the Democratic Party declared during the local elections that he had voted for Rama.
Xhaçka: Topalli should be silent, she’s dishonoring the Parliament
“Jozefina Topalli gave another bad example for the Constitutional role of the Parliament Speaker, presenting herself in the un-educative role of a woman that uses politics to defame men and women alike. Her comment about Mrs. Seseri is also dishonoring, same as the comments against the opposition leader and the President of the Republic. please, do not dishonor the Parliament with your constitutional figure that you are mistakenly representing. Do not dishonor the role of women in politics. Allow me to help you with a proverb: “Poor him who doesn’t know how to speak and is not smart enough to be silent”, Xhacka declared.
