During an inspection at the new surgery unit at QSUT Hospital, the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu stated that after the assessment of the situation by the Technical Committee of Experts, the gradual re-opening of the health system has been decided.
From May 18th, the planned surgeries will gradually resume in regional and university hospitals.
“Today, the Technical Committee of Experts decided to gradually reopen the health system in regional and university hospitals from May 18th. During this week, all structures should be maximally engaged to be ready for the gradual reopening of execution of the planned surgery services “, said Manastirliu.
The minister said that throughout the epidemic, all services related to surgical emergencies and malignant pathologies have been given.
In the meeting with the Minister of Health, the surgeons said that they are ready for the service to be returned to normal, initially with reduced capacities and then continuing the work normally in the service of the citizens.
