For three hours the traffic of vehicles on the main road axes of the country was paralyzed this afternoon by the anti-government protest organized by the opposition DP.

Supporters of the opposition along with MPs of the Democratic Party and the Freedom Party, blocked the traffic of vehicles, allowing only ambulances to pass.

The most tense situation was in Tirana, Rrogozhinë and Bradashesh in central Albania.

In the Shqiponja crossing in Tirana, the general secretary of the Democratic Party, Flamur Noka, along with the deputy Albana Vokshi, physically clashed with the police.

In Bradashesh and Rrogozhina, the protesters clashed with the drivers who were stuck on the road for hours.

Elsewhere at the Shkozet crossing in Durrës, Tirana and Milot, tires were burned by protesters.

At the end of the protest, Noka warned of the continuation of the protests, saying that “civil disobedience continues”.

Meanwhile, the police directed vehicles to the secondary roads, while numerous forces were positioned in the areas where the rallies was taking place.

Most of the opposition MPs were placed in the protests inTirana, while the rest were in other areas of the protests.

Dozens of police and fire brigades were on the ground to avoid any escalation of the gathering.

Noka thanked the citizens who participated in the protest in the capital and in other cities.

“I want to thank with gratitude all the young men and women, citizens who responded to the invitation of the opposition for this great step of civil disobedience. I also want to thank the Albanian citizens in general who did everything to avoid clashes on this day and obeyed the call of the opposition”.

“I want to inform you that today has been a black day for the narco-regime and its power gangs. Terrified, they have brought the narco-police to every intersection in order to intimidate the opposition”, said DP secretary Noka, among other things.
