Majlinda Bregu’s mission for Balkan as RCC Secretary General

The Mission of the General Secretary at the Regional Cooperation Council covers several sectors.

“After the Berlin Process, after appointing the mian duties, such as turning more attention on Western Balkan and increasing the social-economic cooperation and dialogue, this becomes the most important EU institution for Southeastern Europe”, Majlinda Bregu declared.

Bregu was the only applicant from Albania. She was on a tough race against the former Montenegrin Prime Minister, Igor Luklsiç. However, this was not enough for many to read this as a compensation of Prime Minister Rama. This is based on the fact that Bregu’s stances regarding the EU integration have been more similar to Rama’s than Basha’s.

“This is just one of the many intrigues that I have heard during the time when I was invested politically in Tirana. In this position you cannot be appointed but your are voted. The government can only support your application or not, and that’s why I thanked Foreign Minister Bushati”, Bregu says.

Majlinda Bregu was not admitted by Lulzim Basha as MP for this parliamentary term. As result, she lost her leadership roles in the party forums. However, she has received several congratulations from her political family.
