While many may be wondering if the parties of the current ruling coalition will run
together in the next elections of 2017, Luan Rama, General Secretary of
the Socialist Movement for Integration, biggest ally of the government led by Edi Rama, was one of last night’s guests on Top Channel’s “Top Story”,
hosted by Sokol balla.

Hinting that the coalition would continue, Luan Rama said the SMI has united the left center to protect the country’s interests, and their will is not to break something they have created.

The firing of the Justice Minister, he said, proved their will to continue the coalition. “We don’t break agreements on which we have invested maximally”, he stated.

Luan Rama also hinted that they would not be in a coalition with the opposition, saying that the Democratic Party is not playing the role of opposition. “It has become our burden to even play the role of the opposition within the coalition”, he said ironically, while the DP has also ruled out any coalition with the SMI.
