Not satisfied with the writing in English of the name of Skanderbeg, in
the statue placed in the center of Londor, unidentified people have
placed an ugly plate with the name in Albanian.
This “folkloric” craziness has failed to take in consideration any aesthetic or architectural form. If this wasn’t enough, authors have even tried to hide the name in English.
But they have failed even with this, because some of the letters ar estill visible, and they have only made the statue ugly.
Sources from the Albania Embassy in London say that an investigation process is undergoing at the Metropolitan Police.
This statue was placed for the 100th anniversary of independence. It was a fruit of an intensive work from the Albanian Embassy in London, of the Local Council of Westminister, which covers the area, with the help of the renowned friend of Albania, mr.David Lloyd.
The sculpture is made by the famous artist, who also made a statue of Skanderbeg in Cleveland, and the statue of King Zog in Tirana, and the monument of Skanderbeg in Michigan, Kreshnik Xhiku.
Placing the name in English was decided after a long consultation with the Science Academy of Albania, the Minister of Culture and other Albanian institutions.
