Sander Lleshi, vice Chief of the General Staff of Armed Forces of
Albania explained for Top Channel’s program “Pasdite ne Top Channel”
that the Albanian mission in Afghanistan is dangerous for the fact that
Kandahar is considered as one of the most dangerous areas in the planet.

Lleshi explained that our team was participating in the inauguration of a school for the village, when attackers in police uniforms shot against our troops and the US ones.

As for Feti Vogli, Lleshi declared that he was a point of reference for the family, and now he has became a point of reference or the nation and the armed forces, as Albania’s first martyr in international missions.

Lleshi declared that the Albanian state will provide all necessary care that is offered by the law for his family.

As for Aleksander Peci, the other Albanian soldier who was severely wounded, Lleshi declared that the doctors in Germany are making everything possible for his survival.

“Eagle 4 is a contingent that undertakes dangerous missions in very hostile areas, such as security operations, for securing the life of other troops; operations related with the counseling of the Afghani Security Forces, while yesterday’s mission is related with the security of buildings. The contingent is composed of 20 soldiers, not all of them Albanians, while we have a total of 300 Albanian soldiers in Afghanistan, mainly in Herad, Kabul and Kandahar”, Lleshi declared.

“Kandahar is one of the most dangerous areas in the planet. The average population longevity is 40 years, with very difficult life conditions, and everyone born in war. We are part of a coalition and we make our duty as NATO members. These kinds of attacks have happened to other ally troops too. Our troops are in a difficult mission and the danger is always present. Everyone must know this. We hope that we will not have anymore events like this”, Lleshi declared.
