The first liver transplant has been realized in our country. A
3-year-old child was born with liver problems. Her mother offered part
of her liver, which was realized thanks to the Turkish docor Burak Koza
at the American Hospital in Tirana. According to the doctor, the child
is in good health conditions.
“Three weeks have passed since the intervention, and we see that his health situation is good. The liver functions have started and the color of her face is improved slowly. The liver has worked very well as regards the other body organs. As for the immunology, it is still early”, Koza declared.
The surgery took more than 10 hours. The child is being treated at the American Hospital for the moment, since the Turkish surgeon says that the post-operation therapy is very important. The health condition of the mother is also normal.
