The Prosecution asked life in prison for the 81-year-old murderer of the
18-year-old Aishe Vata, pregnant with his child. The Prosecutor asked
the maximal punishment, while the court has accepted the request in the
preliminary session for accelerated trial.
After hearing the claims, Prosecutor Sokol Nishani, Norja’s defensive lawyer, asked for more time to prepare the defence for his client, who has been abandoned by his relatives in this trial.
The accelerated trial might reduce Norja’s sentencing to 25 years in prison, while the next session was adjourned to January 28th. The defendant has confessed the crime and declared that the he was implementing the will of his victim, who was against abortion and asked him to kill and behead her, so that her body would not be recognized.
