LGBTI representatives paraded today with bicycles on Tirana’s main
boulevard, requesting respect for their rights by the society and
politics.

“As citizens, we are ashamed that we don’t have a representative in government and politics, but only friends from the international community”, said Kristi Pinderi, representative of the LGBTI community.

“Many people from our community have not been able to find the courage to come and cycle today with us, due to discrimination. We cycle today for the young men and women who are discriminated everyday in schools and who are abused by their families”, said Xheni Karaj, representative of the LGBTI community.

The LGBTI in Tirana had support from the foreign embassies and other international organizations, said the US Ambassador, Donald Lu.
