The Electoral College accepted the Socialist Party’s request to declare the vote count in Lezhe invalid.

The decision was greeted by the secretary for Electoral matters at the Socialist Party, Koli Bele, who declared that the College read the law as it should.

“The decision of the Central Election Commission was illegal. The Socialist Party asked its repeal and the College approved our request”, Bele declared by the end of the session at the Court of Appeal.

Bele underlined that the result certification has deadlines that should be respected, so that the vote of the Albanians for their new government can be legitimated.

He also declared that the Socialist Party has submitted a lawsuit at the college for the decision of the Central Election Commission in Shkoder.

“Even in this case, regardless the recount, the investigative request of the Republican Party has ended two days ago. The Central Election Commission has forgotten to read the request. However, this decision of the Electoral College will return legitimacy”, Bele declared.

On the other hand, the legal representative of the Democratic Party, Oerd Bylykbashi, declared that the College took a decision that denied its rights to all parties.

“We need a solution for this handicap of the Electoral College. We have a clear robbery by the Socialist Party with at least 1200 votes”, Bylykbashi declared, adding that the Democratic Party aims to continue the appeal.

The college will file a complaint to review what has been today. We know that the robbery has been made”, Bylykbashi declared.
