Levan-Vlore, 3 million EUR loan

After taking a 7.5 million EUR loan from the European Bank for
Reconstruction and Development, the government approved another 3
million EUR loan that will be used for the additional cost of the
Levan-Vlore road.

The Prime Minister reacted for the first time publicly against the opposition, by inviting it to investigate what they call a “corruptive affair”.

“The opposition has the right to see if the cost of the Vjose Bridge has increased or not, and verify if there is a material mistake with the preliminary calculations and the total cost. Certainly, it is expensive, but I want to guarantee the Albanian citizens that this bank would never give an Euro if there would be no transparency for the additional fund”, Berisha declared.

The additional package brings the Levan-Vlore road cost from 42 million to 60 million EUR, with a 43% increase.

10 millions of this will be borrowed with market interests, while the rest will be financed by the government’s budget.

The opposition reported the increased cost was a corruptive decision from which have benefited people who are close to the government.

Besides the loan, the government also approved the decision for increasing the minimal wage from 20.000 to 21.000 ALL.

Rama: Transparency until the end

The Socialist leader, Edi Rama, declared on Twitter that SP is determined to stand to transparency until the end for what he calls “thefts with a government decision”.

The opposition leader writes that the opposition is not against the investments, but against the theft of public assets by the government representatives and the people close to them.
