Legalizing illegal constructions in Tirana

The government has approved the instructions for unblocking the permits
for 400 buildings, apartments and additions made to existing buildings
in the Albanian capital.
This instruction has been planned based on a memorandum signed some days ago by the Mayor of Tirana, Lulzim Basha, and some Ministries, for allowing the registration of these buildings. According to Prime Minister Berisha, the instruction approved by the government is turning into reality an electoral promise of Mr. Basha, and liberates a great quantity of money and property that according to the government were a lifeless capital, due to the unacceptable practices of the previous Municipality leaders.
“This regulation gives permissions to the buildings and constructions that will liberate a capital of 700-800 million of EUR. Naturally, this is also a major moral aspect, a promise that must be kept”, Berisha declared.
In the government meeting, Berisha asked the cabinet members to give priority to the next budget, for realizing the 125 projects for the procedures digitalization, saying that the final deadline will be the 100th anniversary of the Albanian independence.
“This is a major objective, but there is nothing greater for us than a totally digitalized Albania in its 100th anniversary. This 100th anniversary must find Albania completely digitalized, more transparent, faster and with an improved imagination”, Berisha underlined.
