Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The Albanian left parties, not only in opposition but also the
government’s allies will not vote the Normative Act that obliges
homeless families to liberate the houses of former owners until November
1st.
The Socialist Movement for Integration declared through MP Lefter koka that they are in favor of the initiative in principle, but they want to postpone it in order to find a consensual solution.
The Socialists stood strong to the same position during the harsh debates in Parliament, considering the normative act as unilateral and that throws hundreds of citizens on the road.
The Normative Act approved by the majority received only 67 votes in favor, while the four MPs that abstained are three from the SMI and Kastriot Islami. The Socialists were not present. The abstaining for this act is another incomprehension between the SMI and DP, with other signals such as the declarations of PM Berisha that were contradictory to those of the Foreign Minister, Panariti.
