The State Police will undertake another difficult operation in northern Albania, similar to the one in Lazarat.

The order was given by the Police Director after their helicopter was shot at near the Dukagjin area. The bullets were fired from the Pult village area, luckily without hurting anyone.

By taking in consideration the difficult terrain and the attack against the police forces, the Police has decided to send additional troops to Dukagjin, for a bigger operation than previously thought.

The entire area will be surrounded by the Police Forces and then they will start the elimination. Police is expecting to take the same measures as in Lazarat, since the last operation proved successful.

On the second day of the operation, the police has been able to eliminate 7000 plants of cannabis in Dukagjin. Yesterday police eliminated 34.000 plants in total. The police forces were engaged on the second day, the FNSH and the RENEA, with 160 police officers in total.

Officers from the Judiciary Police have also joined the operation, together with 12 experts from the Scientific Police, who will prepare the evidence and legal documents. The police vehicles were shot even yesterday, probably for intimidation.

Police eliminates cannabis parcels in Vlore, owners identified

The operation in southern Albania is still on. 2800 plants were destroyed in Bence, in the Dilan and Elez Canions.

The operation started in the first hours of this Thursday morning, when the police eliminated 1390 plants. The owners were able to escape, thanks to the difficult terrain, but the police were able to identify them.

35 police forces from Tepelena were engaged in this operation, and were then joined by troops from the Gjirokaster Police.

40.000 plants of cannabis were destroyed in the entire area of Tepelena, while a similar operation was held by the Vlore Police in Karbunara, where they found two parcels with 400 plants.
