The Minister of Environment, Fatmir Mediu, held a meeting with the EU
Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Poticnik, with whom he discussed about
the law for the integrated management of waste materials.
“We discussed about matter that are being seen with a new vision. We will fulfill all recommendations for resolving the waste issue by consulting the civil society”, Mediu declared.
Commissioner Poticnik underlined that the law for waste management is in full accordance with the political priorities of the European Union, but it is very important to correctly implement the legal framework.
During this meeting, Mediu also mentioned the water and fishing issue, and the importance that this sector has for the country’s economy.
