The images pictured are the last moments of Arjan Sala before he got into the fire that engulfed the warehouse where he worked, to save his colleagues.
The 32-year-old entered the warehouse where the fire broke out a few days ago and after rescuing 25 people, but was trapped between the flames and lost his life.
The young man’s lifeless body was found Saturday morning after about 60 hours of searching.
Today, Prime Minister Edi Rama, during a visit to the house of the deceased, handed over the certificate with the title “Martyr of the Fatherland” to the family. The heroic act of Arjan Sala was honored with the highest status, with the motivation: “Lost his life in an attempt to save the population in instance of disaster”.
Also, the Central Commission of Status “Martyr of the Fatherland” decided to give a monthly financial reward to the family of the martyr, starting from the date of announcement of the decision.
