In the last government meeting, after mentioning that Albania’s economic
growth is second in Europe to Germany, the Prime Minister Sali Berisha
mentioned another record broken by Albania.

Referring to a study of the Boston Group for the Evaluation of Stable Economic Development, Beriswha declared that Albania is ranked fourth in the world for an indicator that is related with the increased well-being of the population, and ahead of us is only Brasil, New Zealand and Poland.

“Albania is ranked fourth in the world for the economic growth and wellbeing of their citizens, because in a very short time Albania invested in roads throughout the towns and villages of Albania, paving more than 10.000 km of asphalt”, Berisha declared.

The head of the Socialist Parliamentary Group, Gramoz Ruci, asked the Prime Minister to refer to the Transparency Intenrational report, where Albania resulted as the most corrupted in Europe.

“What reforms have you done? You are removing CEZ from our country, ARMO is a national theft, Albpetrol is a classic deceit. What is your success?”, Ruci declared.

“You can keep your statistics of corrupted people, but the real statistics of the 51 development indicators of this country show that Albania has climbed levels where it has never been before”, Berisha added.

In the last Parliamentary session for this year, Berisha and Ruci debated for the failed EU candidate status. The Prime Minister accused the opposition leader of blocking the three laws that required qualified majority and declared that Edi Rama has told to the international community that he has asked Ruci to not vote the law, since he is an MP of the Fier District.

Ruci called this argument a diversion and declared that the country failed with the EU candidate status because of the Prime Minister’s bad relation with the law and failing to implement it.
