In Malësia e Madhe, to the right of the national road Shkodër – Hani i Hotit, where hundreds of hectares of land planted with medicinal plants, there is a large area covered with urban garbage
The place resembles a landfill but is in fact a improvised garbage dump created by businesses, citizens and institutions of the two municipalities, Shkodra and Malësia e Madhe.
Extreme poverty has forced some citizens to make their family survival in digging amidst this waste.
“This truck of the municipality of Malësia e Madhe, which dumps waste here every day, turned away as soon as noticed the presence of cameras. In this area, urban waste has been deposited since 1992, creating an environmental catastrofe and endangering the life of the residents living here”, adds Top Channel’s Klodian Zhivani.
