Haxhinasto, attended the International Forum for Global Security
“Globsec 2012” in Bratislava. He was welcomed by the newly appointed
Slovakian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Miroslav Lacjak, according to the
Foreign Ministry press release.
In this meeting they discussed the latest developments in Albania, focusing on the EU integration process, the regional developments and mutual cooperation.
Haxhinasto underlined Albania’s progress with the reforms and the political situation, emphasizing that these positive developments must have Brussel’s and EU country’s consent for receiving the EU candidate status.
Lajcak declared that many positive changes have happened in Albania, which could bring a positive news about the EU candidate status, but everything is up to the Albanians.
In this meeting they also discussed about the recent developments in Kosovo and the region, regarding the Mitrovica developments. In this meeting they underlined that it is necessary for the international community to give common and clear messages.
