Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future None of the 5 Lushnje Hospital ambulances, some of which brand new, did
not go to the rescue of the 60-year-old, Ever Saraci, who was involved
in an accident with the Tirana-Vlore train.
The accident took place at 09:30 and the police were the first to be on the scene. Some bystanders transported the wounded to the highway, waiting for the ambulance. The spokesperson of the Fier Police declared that the ambulance was notified on time.
But the police waited for more than one hour, and did not transport him by themselves, due to his severe wounds. But none of the five vehicles arrived on time, although the hospital was only two kilometers away.
The hospital director declared that the notification to the hospital had come late, and the ambulance had gone on the scene.
Police sources say that the hospital has neglected by considering the victim as deceased when he was still alive. The transportation method in such accidents could be decisive, and the one realized by the Lushnje police agents could result fatal.
But after waiting for one hour, the police decided to send the victim to hospital. After receiving the first treatment, he was sent to the Military Hospital of Tirana, due to the severity of the wounds.
