Kurum under public administration by Court Order

The Court of Tirana has appointed expert Lindita Kikino as administrator of “Kurum International” which filed for bankruptcy.
When contacted by Top Channel, Kikino said that she will send an opinion to the court about the financial situation of the company and about the steps that need to be followed later.
The Turkish company has however asked for self-administration until they get reorganized. The Kurum International, owned by Kurum Holding, in Turkey, addressed the court for bankruptcy and reorganization.
Kurum Holding in Turkey has also filed for bankruptcy, but they have requested some months before starting the procedures.
The Turkish company has 134 million EUR of loans and overdrafts to banks and international financial institutions. The main creditor of Kurum is IFC, which has funded them for the purchase of three hydropower plants. Kurum is one of the biggest companies in our country. Their impact in the Albanian exports in 2015 was with 5%.
