Kukes residents continue to avoid paying energy bills, by deepening this way the debt against CEZ.

According to “Shqip” newspaper, poverty is the main cause, which is even deteriorating. Sources from this prefecture, which are also confirmed by the CEZ Company, say that the biggest problem in the Kukes District are the families, only 8% of which pay the energy bills.

The businesses are not better. 75% of them are not able to pay energy bills, together with the state institutions. In total, only 4% of the Kukes consumers pay for electricity, from 12% that it was in 2010. In Has, only 12% of the families while in Tropoja only 3%.

The greatest part of the families have not been paying bills for years, what has caused the CEZ Company to send a list with dozens of family names to the prosecution. The last word remains to the bailiff office, since unpaid energy bills are considered an executive title that cannot be negotiated.
