Kruja citizens protested today for the poisoning of over 600 inhabitants by the tap tap water two days ago.
In the protest in front of the municipality of Kruja, they demanded that the people who were supposed to maintain the network be held responsible.
The protesters also cast doubts on the investment made in the water supply system and demanded auditing on the abuses committed.
They said that the pipeline used for the water supply network in Kruja consists of oil pipes taken from the Ballshi or Bulqiza mines, supporting their claim by pointing out the color of the water flowing in their taps.
Last week over 600 people, including 150 children, ended up in the local hospital with symptoms of poisoning.
The first cases were registered last Sunday, while in the following days their number increased.
For a week now, Kruja has been facing a difficult situation with tap water, which according to the residents is not good for consumption, drinking or cooking.
From the analyzes performed, the presence of enterococcus bacteria and ammonia was ascertained in the water, while the manner of contamination remains unclear.
