The German MP, Gunther Krichbaum, illustrated his pessimistic stance for Albania’s EU accession negotiation with a picture from the Albanian parliament, which accompanies his article on Der Tagesspiegel, an online version of the German newspaper.
The picture shows the moment the opposition threw flour against the Prime Minister.
“I think the opening of the accession negotiations is rushed in this phase. Organized crime and high-level corruption are the main problems of this country”, Krichbaum says for German media.
The newspaper reminds that this stance has brought critics from Albanian media outlets against Krichbaum, accusing him of acting upon Russian interests.
Rama and Basha were conflicted regarding Krichbaum. Basha said that the Albanian media who wrote about Krichbaum’s ties with Russia were publishing Edi Rama’s lies, who was only increasing the number of pessimistic MPs in the German Parliament.
Rama, on the other hand, said that he has never written anything against Krichbaum and that he even thanks him for helping resolve the situation that Basha has blocked months ago. “We never attack foreigners who are interested on Albania”, Rama wrote.
