Kosovo’s boycott, Rama: “We need dialogue”

The Albanian PM says he has no lesson to give and no unwanted advise for
anyone, especially when it is about the Kosovo leadership.

When asked about the boycott of Kosovo officials at the Belgrade summit, Rama said dialogue with Prishtina is not unrealizable or even something to ignore. It is a process up to the leadership of Kosovo Albanians.

“Being winners of a war, there is the moral advantage of being victorious. For this reason, we must not avoid chances to communicate. We need to create more possibilities for communication, because we have nothing to be ashamed about. When we communicate, we not only don’t behave like the victorious side, but we create spaces for the opposite of what we think. We make obstacles to a process that is on our interest, first of all. We put obstacles to what we must see as a process that is good for our people”, Rama said.

Rama added that this is not a process that politics can close at the Parliament and turn it into arena where fighters must show who loves Kosovo the most, who loves Albania and our flag the most. Kosovo’s participation had been agreed on, but debates on Trepca caused the boycott.
