Kosovo Interior Minister, Bajram Rexhepi, has irritated EULEX with a series of critics addressed to this mission.
During an interview for the “Koha Ditore”, Rexhepi declared that the promise of the Chief of the Mission, that the northern Kosovo will be a priority for EULEX, is not really happening.
According to him, the situation in the most problematic area of Kosovo has not changed and the Serbian parallel structures continue to be functional, by usurping the institutions.
“The mission leaded by the French General Xavier Bout de Marnhac is not installing the rule of law in this area. Nothing good comes from them. Lord save us from EULEX”, Rexhepi declared.
On the other hand, the heads of the European Mission reacted and declared that they will demand explanations to the Minister Rexhepi for this declaration. The second person in charge of EULEX, Andrew Sparks, expressed his indignation in a press conference.
“Do you really think that the situation is really like this? Do people have the right to think it like this? If yes, our staying here has no sense. I will meet Mr. Rexhepi soon and I will ask explanations for his declarations”, said Sparks to the journalists.
