Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future Kosovo received today the visa liberalization guide. The EU Commissioner
for internal affairs, Cecilia Malmstrom, handed the document over to
the Kosovo government officials. The guide has an all-inclusive list of
six reforms that Kosovo must fulfill. These requests are related with
the freedom of movement, reintegration, readmission, the documents’
safety, border management and migration, war against organized crime and
corruption and the basic rights.
Mrs. Malmstrom expressed her pleasure for handing over the document that according to her, brings the Kosovo citizens one step closer to the visa free regime. The visa liberalization guide includes reforms that must be fulfilled by the Kosovo government in order to create a safe visa free environment.
“If the visa free travel will become a reality for Kosovo and when it will happen, is up to the Kosovo government’s commitment for fulfilling these difficult reforms on terrain”, Malmstrom declared.
Kosovo is the last country in Southeastern Europe that has been left outside the visa liberalization process, and their citizens can travel only in a few countries, without having the need to wait in long queues in embassies.
