The two Kosovo policemen have been handcuffed by the Serbian Police 150 meters in Kosovan territory.
This is what the two policemen declared for their chiefs at the Border Plice in Lluzhan, Podujeva. The authorities of this area made further investigations, and they concluded that the Serbian police had violated the territory of Kosovo.
“The kidnapping has taken place 150 meters within the Kosovo territory. 13 Serbian police agents have surrounded the area and have taken them away”, declared one colleague of Sami Beqiri and Shukri Binaku.
Bajram Rexhepi, The Interior Minister of Kosovo visited the Lluzhan border checkpoint, together Shpend Maxhuni, the general Chief of Police.
Rexhepi asked the EU to pressure Serbia to implement the obligations of the free movement agreement.
The two Kosovo policemen were released after 48 hours, accompanied by an EULEX vehicle.
The Kosovo Parliament Speaker, Jakup Krasniqi, declared that this kidnapping in the Kosovo territory showed that the Belgrade’s policies have not changed since the Milosevic regime.
The Nato General Secretary, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, expressed NATO’s concern regarding the recent events at the Kosovo-Serbia border.
