The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, attended a visit in Washington where he met with the CIA Director, Mike Pompeo, the National Security Adviser to US President Donald Trump, H.R McMaster; and the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Europe, Wess Mitchell.
Haradinaj transmitted positive notes about the support Kosovo enjoys in the USA: “Kosovo is blessed that it cannot confront on its own with the regional and global challenges”, Haradinaj said.
McMaster reinforced Haradinaj’s declaration by saying that Trump is proud for the achievements of Kosovo and its relations with the USA.
“The USA will stand by your side as you reinforce democratic institutions, protect human rights, face corruption and hold on to your international commitments, as you revive the dialogue with Serbia in order to overcome one of the most difficult chapters of history”, McMaster said, who has also been part of the US troops in Kosovo.
Haradinaj declared for the Voice of America that it was a great honor for him to have McMaster in the reception of December. As for the agreements with Serbia, the Prime Minister said that the independence recognition is of key importance.
“Making peace with Serbia means that Kosovo will forgive, but not forget the past”, Haradinaj declared.
