The preparations for the fifth anniversary of independence have started,
a task that is mainly given to the Deputy Prime Minister, Hajredin
Kuci.
He declared that the main ceremony will be related with what has been called the parade of independence, the demonstration of a large formation of the Kosovo Security Forces, and not only.
On the fifth anniversary there will be a special honour made to the former Kosovo Protection Forces and the Kosovo Liberation Army troops. According to Mr. Kuci, the government of Kosovo will invite NATO officers in the ceremony.
Other ceremonies are the Solemn academy; a concert of the Kosovo Philharmonic; homage at the martyrs’ cemeteries; a concert for independence at the Mother Theresa square and the Parliament’s solemn session.
Part of the preparations will be the 100th anniversary of the Prishtina University foundation. This activity will be coordinated with the rectorate of the Prishtina University.
Other ceremonies will be organized in all Kosovo communes, while the Kosovo embassies in the world will organize special receptions in honour of the Independence Day.
