NATO command in Kosovo asked additional troops in the country, due to the escalation of the situation in the northern area.
The news came from KFOR spokesperson, Diter Vihter, during an announcment for “Reuters” news agency.
“We are demanding additional troops from abroad. I cannot speak about numbers, but we are talking about a batallion”, Vihter declared.
The situation in Northern Kosovo deteriorated after the operation of the Kosovo Special Forces in border checkpoints 1 and 31, one of which was burned by Serbian radical groups.
Meanwhile, KFOR troops interrupted the operation for moving roadblocks, due to the presence of Serbian snipers.
