Albert Veliu, also known as “Babale”, the man who testified that he was the one talking with the Interior Minister’s brother in the audio recording, (which the Interior Minister called a manipulation and filed a lawsuit against), has demanded asylum in Kosovo, after he was arrested in a hotel there, together with his son.
Kosovo’s Interior Minister, Bejtush Gashi, said that Kosovo is forced to carry out all of the procedures.
“Kosovo has to fllow the European Human Right Convention and we will follow all procedures”, said Bejtush Gashi, Interior Minister of Kosovo.
Veliu was arrested by the Kosovo Police together with his son, while he was leaving towards an EU country, do file for asylum.
He is a key witness in the case opened against Agron Xhafaj, brother of the Interior Minister.
