The Kosovo Parliament has ratified the agreement with the EU for the
EULEX mandate until June 2014, while the approved the Constitutional
amend with which the international supervision of independence is
concluded.

The Chairman of the Commission for Constitutional Amends, Arsim Bajrami, considers this as an historic day for Kosovo, which coincides with the 20th anniversary of the creation of the Kacanik Constitution that declares Kosovo as an independent state.

Same as warned, the Constitutional Amends and the continuity of the EULEX mandate has found the support of the two opposition parties, the Democratic League of Kosovo and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo.

The Parliamentary Group Leader of the DLK, Ismet Beqiri, declared that the problems that Kosovo is facing dim the light of this day. He added that DLK will support the Constitutional amends and the mandate of EULEX, but he reminded the government that this is not the case to celebrate.

The Self-Determination Movement was the only party that opposed the continuity of the EULEX mission in Kosovo.

“The neutral point of EULEX gives more room to the five EU members states that have not recognized Kosovo to stand to their present decision, because same as EULEX, these states do not recognize Kosovo as a sovereign state”, declared Glauk Konjfuca, a Self-Determination MP.
