The delegation of Kosovo returned disappointed from Berlin, not being able to receive any promise for the visa liberalization. It seems that France has insisted that Kosovo should not receive free visa movement.
President Thaci expressed this disappointment in front of journalists as well: “Even today we saw an unclear behavior. This is discrimination and punishment to Kosovo”, he said.
Deutsche Welle says that the reason why Macron was against the visa liberalization with Kosovo, was related to Albania.
According to Macron, after removing the visa regime with Georgia and Albania, the number of illegal immigration and criminality from these countries saw a sudden rise.
Macron said that if they did the same with Kosovo, the only one that would benefit would be the National Front in France, the extreme right wing party.
