Kosovo and Serbia reach agreement in Brussels

In Brussels has ended the next dialogue round between Kosovo and Serbia.
The dialogue that was held this Friday, regardless the tense situation,
ended with two agreements: one for the Customs stamps and one for the
property registration. According to the delegations, the implementation
of the agreement for the Custom Stamps will take place very soon.

The head of the Serbian delegation in this dialogue, Borislav Stefanovic declared that by recognizing the Customs stamps, Kosovo is expected to remove the embargo against Serbian goods within 10 days, and create free movement of Serbian goods in “the other part of the Serbian territory”, as he chose to call Kosovo.

According to Telegraf, the head of the Kosovo delegation, Edita Tahiri confirmed the achievement of this agreement and declared that this will mean “removing Serbia’s years-old embargo against Kosovo goods”, contrary to the principles of the free trade in the CEFTA region.

Tahiri and Stefanovic also confirmed of achieving an agreement for the property registration, according to Radio Free Europe. Tahiri declared that after this agreement, Serbia will return Kosovo the property registers, but only through scanned copies of the original documents.

Both parties admitted that the climate was very negative. Stefanovic declared that Kosovo made several accusations for the role of the Serbian counterparts in the situation of Northern Kosovo, but emphasized that they did not discussed for their parallel structures.

The Kosovo negotiator, Edita Tahiri confirmed that the climate in this meeting was not good.

“Personally speaking, I have seen Mr. Stefanovic in the past as a man of dialogue, but this summer he turned into a turmoil provocateur”.
